Since its start-up in 2002, the company has delivered design and services to 35 different projects, most recently for an oceanographic research vessel for the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). The projects have been for 25 shipowners, and the vessels have been built at 15 different yards in Turkey, both in the Tuzla yard zone and along the Black Sea. Nine of the projects are turnkey designs for shipowners in Spain, Italy, Sweden, Canada and Turkey.
In 2007, the company was acquired by the Ulstein Group, and was renamed Ulstein Es-Cad. “The aim is for Ulstein Es-Cad to be a key provider of design and engineering for vessels within short sea shipping. We have multi-disciplinary expertise – from concept development to detail engineering – and are currently working on developing enhanced project management routines in order to provide for larger volumes,” says Sezen.
“Other companies in the Ulstein Group have valuable experience. Together, we can utilise our collective expertise and experience to develop new solutions and concepts. This provides new possibilities for both the Turkish and world markets,” he says.
