Atikkan is a qualified chief engineer and was chief engineer aboard a cargo vessel for two years before continuing her education to become a naval constructor. After earning her degree she started as an engineer at a shipyard in Turkey. In 2003 she joined Es-Cad Engineering. Köseoglu is also a naval architect and was the first to be employed by Es-Cad Engineering in 2002. She has worked as an engineer at yards in the region since 1996.
Useful
“I really like my work and I am very happy to be here at Ulstein Es-Cad. I have also spent a few weeks in Norway working at the technical department at Ulstein Verft to gain further experience with the work practices and standards of Ulstein. It was very useful,” Köseoglu says.
Well-known brand
Atikkan hasn’t been to Norway yet, but both she and Köseoglu have had a very productive cooperation with Svein Frode Eggesbø and his colleagues at West Maritime, a partner company of Ulstein. Eggesbø was the main supervisor for two recent projects for Esvagt, and the three are now also cooperationg on two vessels to be built in Dubai for Eastern Echo. Köseoglu and Atikkan have long experience both as designers and project coordinators for engineering within their respective diciplines, but the network-based processes in Ulstein is a new experience.
“Ulstein is a well-known brand worldwide and we are very proud to be part of the team. We’re now working on implementing the Ulstein standard for all documentation delivered by us,” concludes Atikkan.
