With the ever increasing worldwide energy demand, there is an increased need for modern, state-of-the-art drillships for performing exploration drilling around the world. The vessels have to be able to work in deepwaters for prolonged periods, have short mobilization times, the potential for future upgrades to operate in arctic environments or designed for specific geographical areas like the Caspian Sea.
