To support the development of new offshore oil and gas fields Ulstein Sea of Solutions started developing a new series of various offshore construction vessels, starting with the Seabarge 3000 and SOC 600 designs. The Sapura 3000, a customized Seabarge 3000 design, was the first totally new generation derrick lay vessel to be build in 20 years. Ever since, Ulstein Sea of Solutions has become world market leader for the design of heavy offshore vessels.
